Deer Trail Lodge is a spacious four bedroom, two and a half bath, 2,039 sq. ft. vacation rental home located on paved roads in the North Carolina mountain town of Beech Mountain, nestled in the beautiful Pisgah National Forest.  With the home's elevation at 4,330 feet, summer temperatures are rarely above 75 degrees Fahrenheit.  Come and stay in the summer to escape the heat, or come and play in the winter for some of the best skiing on the East coast.   At an elevation at 5,505 feet above sea level at the summit, the Beech Mountain Resort offers dramatic views down the slope.  In the summer the resort offers mountain biking from the ski summit as well, with bikes lifted via chair lift, for a dramatic mountain bike ride down the mountain for the daring. As a town, Beech Mountain has the highest elevation of any town east of the  Mississippi River.  The summer draws visitors for the views and cool temperatures, the fall for the spectrum of fall foliage, and the winter for winter sports at the nearby ski resort. 

Deer Trail Lodge has undergone extensive remodeling and the care that the owners have for the home is clearly demonstrated in the quality materials chosen to ensure that the home is both comfortable and luxurious.  The name of the home is a reminder of the many deer that are often seen in and around the property.  However, the property is not only frequently visited by deer, but also occasionally bear, rabbits, turkey, raccoons, fox, and groundhogs.

Deer Trail Lodge has an outdoor entertaining area at the back of the house with fire pit, Adirondack chairs, a frisbee golf goal, and an area for playing corn hole. The front of the house boasts more than 200 square feet of covered deck space for relaxing.  Along the left side of the house guests can enjoy the trickling creek, with creekside seating on one of the two benches, from the small side deck. Architectural features of the cabin include log and poplar siding and interior tongue and groove paneling. Exterior lighting is plentiful to ensure that guests never arrive home to a dark driveway or have to traverse the deck steps in the dark. The kitchen is well stocked with a full suite of new stainless steel appliances and an abundance of cooking equipment.  The home has four nicely furnished large bedrooms and two and a half baths, with each bedroom having a large closet. 

The home has central heat and air, so regardless of the temperature, guest's comfort is assured.  Additionally, two gas fireplaces provide not only ambiance but also heat in the cooler months.  

The owners have supplied numerous board games, children’s toys, classic family and children's movies (VCR or DVD) as well as three Roku streaming televisions. Located in the loft is a Foosball table for our guest's enjoyment.  The home is a destination in and of itself, with two bubbling creeks to enjoy, endless relaxation on the two decks, and fun times around the fire pit for everyone.

With the Beech Mountain Resort being only two miles away on paved roads, travel to the resort in off peak times is just a quick seven minute drive depending on weather conditions.  Just minutes  from the house, are miles of breath-taking hiking trails as well as trout fishing at Lake Coffey.  And down the mountain is the thrilling Alpine Coaster located in Banner Elk. Whether it's summer adventure or winter thrills, Beech Mountain has something for everyone!  And don't forget Tweetsie Railroad, the iconic mountain amusement park, along with the towns of Blowing Rock and Boone, each easily accessible from Deer Trail Lodge. Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is also very near by.
