Welcome to Deer Trail Lodge
We are excited to welcome visitors to the Beech Mountain area and hope that guests find the information on our website helpful in selecting a vacation home as well as learning about the area. While most know about Beech Mountain for the winter sports, this area is also a year round paradise with cool summer temperatures and endless family friendly activities.

Deer Trail Lodge is a dog friendly 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath modern lodge located in the beautiful North Carolina
mountains in the town of Beech Mountain, where the summer temperatures average around 70 degrees due
to the high elevation. With central heat and air conditioning, a back yard fire pit, modern
stainless steel appliances, comfortable beds, and a landscaped yard that
makes walking your dog a breeze, guests will enjoy relaxing moments at
Deer Trail Lodge. In the winter, Beech Mountain is snowy winter wonderland,
and the town looks like a Christmas village. Guests seeking to avoid the very
high commissions of booking sites should contact the owners directly for a customized quote. Savings will vary depending
upon time of travel, but can be as much as 30% off commission driven booking sites. The home is dog friendly for a
maximum of up to two dogs up to 25 lbs. with no pet fee. The home has undergone extensive remodeling through 2025,
including all new furniture, appliances, landscaping upgrades, and natural hickory wood floors.

Deer Trail Lodge is a spacious four bedroom, two and a half bath, 2,039 sq. ft. vacation rental home located at 124 Greenbriar Road, in the North Carolina mountain town of Beech Mountain, nestled in the beautiful Pisgah National Forest. With the home's elevation at 4,330 feet, summer temperatures are rarely above 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Come and stay in the summer to escape the heat, or come and play in the winter for some of the best skiing on the East coast. At an elevation at 5,505 feet above sea level at the summit, the Beech Mountain Resort offers dramatic views down the slope. In the summer the resort offers mountain biking from the ski summit as well, with bikes lifted via chair lift, for a dramatic mountain bike ride down the mountain for the daring.
As a town, Beech Mountain has the highest elevation of any town east of the Mississippi River. The summer draws visitors for the views and cool temperatures, the fall for the spectrum of fall foliage, and the winter for winter sports at the nearby ski resort.
Deer Trail Lodge has undergone extensive remodeling through 2025, and the care that the owners have for the home is clearly demonstrated in the quality materials chosen to ensure that the home is both comfortable and luxurious. The name of the home is a reminder of the many deer that are often seen in and around the property. However, the property is not only frequently visited by deer, but also occasionally bear, rabbits, turkey, raccoons, fox, and groundhogs.
Deer Trail Lodge has an outdoor entertaining area at the back of the house with fire pit, Adirondack chairs, and lovely views of wooded areas flanked by two mountain creeks. The front of the house boasts more than 200 square feet of covered deck space for relaxing. Along the left side of the house guests can enjoy the trickling creek, with creekside seating on one of the two benches. Architectural features of the home include log and poplar siding. Exterior lighting is plentiful to ensure that guests never arrive home to a dark driveway or have to traverse the deck steps in the dark. Inside guests will enjoy two gas fireplaces, stainless steel appliances, a gas Frigidaire range, dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator. The home has four nicely furnished large bedrooms and two and a half baths, with each bedroom having a large closet. Cell service has been excellent for most guests at the home, and Wi-Fi internet is provided by Spectrum. Television is currently available through Roku for streaming guest's own entertainment subscriptions.
The home has central heat and air, so regardless of the temperature, guest's comfort is assured. The home has a central HVAC system for heat and air conditioning, controlled via the easy to use NEST thermostat. Two gas fireplaces provide not only ambiance but also heat in the cooler months.
The owners have supplied numerous board games, located in the cabinet in the loft, classic family and children's VCR tapes for use on the VCR only kids TV, and Roku streaming and a DVD player for the other TV's, perfect for those evenings with family, or when passing time indoors on a cold snow day. Located in the loft is a Foosball table for our guest's enjoyment. The home is a destination in and of itself, with two bubbling creeks to enjoy, endless relaxation on the two decks, and fun times around the fire pit for everyone.
The home is two miles from Beech Mountain Resort, a seven minute drive in normal weather conditions. Just minutes from the house, are miles of breath-taking hiking trails as well as trout fishing at Lake Coffey. And down the mountain is the thrilling Alpine Coaster, Banner Elk's newest attraction. Whether it's summer adventure or winter thrills, Beech Mountain has something for everyone! And don't forget Tweetsie Railroad, the iconic mountain amusement park that is just a short drive toward Blowing Rock. Boone adventures lie about a 45 minute drive from Deer Trail Lodge.
